茂名地处岭南粤西，种植荔枝年深岁久，境内树龄超五百岁的荔枝树约有千棵，贡园里有棵妃子笑，树龄已超1900岁，宛如活化石见证岁月变迁。 每至茂名常风闻古荔树大名，荔乡人将之视作乡土神树。在设计万锦城会所时，时常想到那一片枝叶婆娑的古荔林，遂决定以此为底本造景，讲一个“林间觅仙”的故事。

Located in western Guangdong’s Lingnan region, Maoming has a long-standing history of litchi cultivation. There are around 1,000 litchi trees over 500 years old within its territory, and a Feizixiao litchi tree in the local Tribute Orchard has exceeded 1,900 years old, standing like a living fossil witnessing the changes of time.

Whenever visiting Maoming, you will often hear the fame of these ancient litchi trees, which are regarded as local sacred trees by the local litchi-growing villagers. When designing the Wanjin Club, the lush, swaying ancient litchi groves kept coming to mind, so we decided to create landscapes based on this prototype, telling a story of “seeking serenity in the litchi grove”.
